More About This Tour
Tour Details
The Ashtavinayak yatra is one of Maharashtra's most cherished pilgrimages – darshan at the eight swayambhu (self-manifested) Ganpati temples spread across Pune, Raigad and Ahmednagar districts. Our 2 Night, 3 Day Shastrokt Ashtavinayak Darshan from Mumbai follows the traditional sacred order prescribed in the scriptures, beginning at Morgaon and returning to Morgaon to complete the yatra. It is ideal for families who wish to perform the pilgrimage exactly as their elders did, with a private AC cab, a driver who knows the temple routes well, and two comfortable nights in 3-star hotels along the way.
Your first day begins early as you leave Mumbai for Morgaon, for darshan of Moreshwar, the first temple of the Shastrokt yatra. You then continue to Siddhivinayak at Siddhatek on the banks of the Bhima, before checking in at Pune for the night. On day two you travel towards the Konkan for darshan of Ballaleshwar at Pali – the only Ashtavinayak named after a devotee – followed by Varad Vinayak at Mahad. Crossing back over the ghats, you visit Chintamani at Theur, then continue to Girijatmaj at Lenyadri, a temple set inside ancient hillside caves, and halt for the night near Ozar. The final day starts with darshan of Vighneshwar at Ozar and Mahaganpati at Ranjangaon, after which you return to Morgaon for a second darshan of Moreshwar, completing the sacred circle of the Shastrokt yatra, before the drive home to Mumbai. If time permits, we also stop at Khandoba Temple in Jejuri and at Prati Balaji.
