Things to Know Before You Travel
- At Grishneshwar, men are usually asked to take off their shirt before entering the inner sanctum.
- Bhimashankar has steps down to the temple, and Parli Vaijnath has steps up to it. Comfortable footwear helps.
- The Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays.
- Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri are the busiest days at every Jyotirlinga, so book early for these dates.
- October to March is the most pleasant season for the drive.
